Karley... the Great

This past weekend I was commissioned by my friend Karley to shoot a headshot for a business project. She was so much fun to work with even in the half-burned-down-freezing-cold-downtown-Champaign. There wasn't a bad photo in the bunch. But how could there be with those eyes and that smile. (It turned into more than just a head shot, but boy we had fun).

Encounters

Lately I have been thinking about the mark I want to leave on our world. I have decided that this is it. I can't get enough of it. Most days I wake up wanting to photograph my whole world and discover the possibilities of a lens and a camera body. What will my camera encounter that the eyes neglect to see? Can I make the ordinary as beautiful as the extraordinary?

I have decided to join the Champaign County Camera Club (a club for non-professionals who sincerely want to learn more about photography and discover local outlets in which to display art). There are all kinds of workshops and contests. I am astoundingly excited about the possibilities to come.

Maternity Shoot

A coworker of mine asked if I would be willing to take some maternity pictures of her and her family. I was DELIGHTED to do so. Although shooting at someone's home is a challenge (especially in harsh evening light) I think we got a few of them to turn out. Congrats Tanya and Dan... can't wait till baby "B" arrives:)
